Young Agents or YIPs (Young Insurance Professional) = Agents or licensed agency personnel who work with an independent insurance agency and are 40 years of age and younger.

Whether they are gathering for a social networking event or giving back to the community,
IIAAustin’s young insurance professionals are active and fun!

Why you should encourage your agency staff to participate?

  • To encourage more young people to become involved in their associations and to bring new talent into the independent agency system. As the average age of agency principals increases, the need to bring young agents into the system grows. These events provide the ideal vehicle for integrating these enthusiastic, forward thinking men and women into the fold.
  • Promotes new ideas..."New blood" is the key to ongoing growth, and every agency is faced with the task of keeping their perspective fresh and moving forward. Young agents bring new ideas and excitement to the business and are the cornerstones of an agency's future. With proper motivation, education, and direction, young agents will be prepared to assume the mantle of leadership within the independent agency system.
  • Keeps morale high...Allowing young insurance professionals to participate in association activities provides them with motivation to work harder in the agency and adds to the overall morale of the workplace. The positive interaction of a young agents' forum provides sharing with peers who have the same types of challenges and successes. As a result, young agents are aware that the issues they are facing are similar to their peers. When they return to the agency, young agents have a broader perspective and generally want to participate in the problem solving process and sharing of successes.
